Taylor & Lucy

August 30, 2025 | Casa Larga Winery, Fairport NY

There is a quiet kind of magic that fills the air on the morning of a wedding, an anticipation that hums beneath every detail. For Lucy and her eight bridesmaids, that magic began at the Woodcliff Hotel, where sunlight spilled across carefully laid out details: heirloom jewelry, soft florals, and the dress that had been waiting months for its moment. Laughter filled the room, the kind that comes only from sisters, best friends, and a bride who knows the day she has dreamed of is finally here.

Just a few floors above, Taylor and his groomsmen were getting ready, tying ties and straightening jackets with the mix of nerves and excitement that only a groom can really understand. He opened her letter, letting her words steady him in a way nothing else could.

Soon the limo arrived, and with her bridesmaids gathered around her, Lucy was off to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. The architecture, the icons, the history created a sacred backdrop for a ceremony that was deeply rooted in tradition yet entirely theirs. In the hallways of the church, her bridal party fluffed veils, buttoned sleeves, and whispered last-minute reassurances, while her mom adjusted the final curl by her cheek, her eyes shimmering with pride. There was a quiet magic in those moments, soft laughter, gentle touches, and the shared understanding that everything was about to change. Taylor arrived steady and smiling, ready to meet his bride at the altar.

Later, at the church, when it was finally Lucy’s turn, she broke the seal on his envelope and read the lines he had written just for her. Those words were the quiet heartbeat of the morning, a reminder of the journey that brought them here.

The church filled with candlelight and reverence as they exchanged vows surrounded by the rituals of the Greek Orthodox faith. Crowns, candles, and circles all symbolized not only marriage but unity, two people becoming one path.

When they stepped outside as newlyweds, confetti rained down like a burst of celebration from the sky itself. Their families cheered, their friends clapped, and the moment felt like something out of a storybook.

Family formals came next, with grandparents, parents, siblings, and each group representing a chapter in the story of the families coming together. We closed our time at the church with a few couple’s portraits, embracing the gorgeous stained glass windows and natural light.

And then it was time to head to Casa Larga Winery, where vineyards rolled across the horizon and the light wrapped everything in a warm, golden glow. The bridal party had an incredible time taking photos in such a gorgeous backdrop.

Cocktail hour drifted by in a breeze of laughter, clinking glasses, and portraits that felt natural and unhurried. The bridesmaids gathered in their dresses, the groomsmen joked among themselves, and the couple slipped away for quiet moments that the camera caught with softness and authenticity.

The reception room was absolutely glowing, sunlight spilling in through the windows and catching the shimmer of every detail. Blue and white florals filled the space in full, lush arrangements, soft, pillowy blooms that tied the whole room together with a classic, airy elegance. The light danced across the tabletops, glinting off glassware and highlighting the subtle textures of the linens. As guests walked in, the room felt warm and inviting, almost dreamlike, with the flowers, the light, and the soft hum of anticipation creating a perfect, effortless kind of magic.

Introductions brought energy, cheers, and the kind of smiles that stretch all the way to your eyes. A first dance that felt like floating. Parent dances that tugged at hearts. Speeches that brought everyone back through memories of childhood, first dates, and the unmistakable moment when everyone knew Lucy and Taylor were meant for each other.

One by one, the voices of those who know Lucy and Taylor best rose up through the reception. Taylor’s father spoke, his tone tender yet strong, speaking of his son’s resilience, the years of patience, and how he couldn’t be more proud to see Taylor marry someone as kind and caring as Lucy. And in return, Lucy’s own father stood, gratitude in his eyes, thanking his new daughter-in-law for loving his son through the ups and downs, especially when miles stretched between them. Taylor’s brother spoke, his words steady and full of pride, reminding everyone of how far they’d come, growing up together, dreaming together, and now, celebrating this moment as he watched his little brother take this incredible leap. Lucy’s sister offered a warm, playful tribute, remembering the laughter and looking forward to the future. Together, these speeches wove a story of perseverance, joy, and community, a heartfelt reminder that love isn’t just about two people, but everyone who supports them along the way.

Dinner flowed into table hopping photos, with hug after hug and smile after smile, and then the sun dipped low over the vineyard. It painted the sky in rose and gold, giving Lucy and Taylor the perfect backdrop for portraits that will hang in frames for decades.

Their cake cutting followed under twinkling lights, sealing the sweetness of the evening.

When the dance floor opened, it did not take long for the celebration to turn into a full out party. Music loud, shoes off, laughter bright. The kind of dancing that says this is a night no one will ever forget.

As the night drew to a close, the energy softened into something beautifully nostalgic. When Piano Man began to play, their final dance song, the room gathered around them, It was the perfect ending: two people wrapped up in each other, surrounded by everyone who loved them, the moment suspended in that warm, happy chaos Billy Joel seems to create. As the last notes faded, it felt like a gentle wish for their future and a lifetime of nights that feel just as unforgettable.

Lucy and Taylor, here’s to the chapters still to come. May your marriage be filled with the same warmth, laughter, and magic that filled your wedding day.
