Dalton & Amanda
October 4, 2025 | The Inn at West Settlement | Roxbury, NY
Some couples cross your path and instantly feel familiar, like old souls you just hadn’t met yet. Amanda and Dalton were that from the very beginning. We met more than a year before their wedding day, wandering through New York City for their engagement session. True to who they are, they didn’t want anything traditional or overly posed. Instead, we leaned fully into experience. We explored the city together, starting with a local carousel that left us all laughing and slightly dizzy (and quietly reminded us we are, in fact, not teenagers anymore). From there, we escaped into the forest for something softer and more grounded, earthy, calm, and completely them. We ended the evening with a champagne toast, soaking in that “just engaged” feeling before they hopped on a plane to Europe for their best friend’s wedding. That same best friend would later stand in front of them, officiating their wedding day. Full circle moments don’t get much better than that.
A Catskills Wedding Day That Felt Like Home
Amanda and Dalton chose The Inn at West Settlement in the Catskill Mountains for its quiet beauty and unpretentious charm with rolling hills, open skies, and spaces that invite you to slow down. Their day was thoughtful, intentional, and deeply personal without feeling overproduced.
The morning unfolded gently. Amanda got ready upstairs with her closest girls, the energy calm but excited. Dalton and the guys tucked into another room, soaking in those last moments before everything shifted. There was no rush, just space to breathe, laugh, and be present.
One of the most emotional moments of the day came early: Amanda’s first look with her dad. Just the two of them; quiet, and unforgettable, the kind of moment that reminds you why photographs matter.
When Amanda and Dalton finally saw each other, it felt like the world narrowed to just them. No choreography, no performance, just genuine emotion and the ease of two people who know they’ve found home in each other.
After their first look, we flowed right into family and bridal party portraits, taking full advantage of the beautiful early afternoon light. Getting these moments done before the ceremony allowed Amanda and Dalton to be fully present later, without pulling them away from guests or the celebration. Immediate family gathered with ease, the bridal party stepped in for both group and individual portraits, and everything felt perfect.
Guests arrived to the hilltop ceremony site as the afternoon light settled in. With the Catskills as their backdrop and music drifting through the air, Amanda and Dalton exchanged vows officiated by the friend who had been there for so many chapters of their story. It was heartfelt, personal, and filled with the kind of laughter and tears that only come from deep connection.
Afterward, we lingered at the ceremony site for portraits, letting the moment stretch a little longer before giving Amanda and Dalton space to take it all in. Even in a full day, they prioritized pauses. Presence over pressure.
Cocktail hour spilled outdoors beneath the ramp, conversations flowing easily, the mountains doing what they do best, quietly stealing the show.
As evening settled in, guests moved into the reception space, where thoughtful details immediately set the ton. The groom, an artist, designed the seating chart himself, with every table number featuring a funny cartoon he illustrated by hand. The bride created the drink sign for their specialty cocktails, adding another personal touch.
Every element of the reception was infused with heart and personality, making the space feel unmistakably them, before introductions led straight into Amanda and Dalton’s first dance as husband and wife.
As the bonfire was lit and the sun dipped behind the hills, we stole them away for sunset photos, soft light, mountain air, and that unmistakable we just did this glow.
Heartfelt toasts followed, parents, siblings, and friends sharing stories that painted a full picture of who Amanda and Dalton are, individually and together.
Finally, the couple shared dances with their parents on the stunning candlelit dance floor. Personalities shined through every move.
Later in the evening, just outside during the midst of party dancing, Amanda and Dalton surprised their guests with a moment no one saw coming. Leaning fully into the groom’s signature light sabers, the two broke into a hilarious, sci-fi-inspired routine that felt straight out of a movie scene. Laughter and cheers echoed through the Catskills night, creating one of those spontaneous, unforgettable moments that perfectly captured the fun, energy, and joy of their Upstate New York wedding, be sure to watch the reel below.
From there, the dance floor stayed full, the energy warm and joyful, the kind of party where time slips away without you noticing.
Amanda and Dalton’s wedding wasn’t about spectacle, it was about meaning. About relationships. About honoring where they’ve been and celebrating where they’re going.
